The Veneers Process
Preparation and Impressions
Your first visit involves preparing your teeth for the veneers. We'll make room on your teeth by removing some enamel (about the thickness of a fingernail). We'll then take an impression of your smile, sending it to our local dental lab to custom fabricate your veneers.
Temporary Veneers
We prepare your teeth to accommodate the veneers by gently contouring your teeth. We etch the surface enamel to prepare your treated teeth for both the temporary and final veneers. The temporaries are then fitted over your teeth and worn for 2 to 3 weeks to determine if we need to make any cosmetic or functional changes. During this time your permanent veneers will be custom crafted to create your perfect smile.
Placing Your Permanent Veneers
Once the permanent veneers have been crafted, we remove the temporaries and carefully fit the permanent veneers to your teeth, ensuring that all are shaped and aligned to your liking. We then bond the veneers to your teeth with a special light.
Designing Your Dream Smile
Before your veneers are made, we create a blueprint for your perfect smile based on your specific facial structure, smile, and mouth. This blueprint is then used to create the size and shape of your veneers.

The veneer process with Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry takes about 2-3 weeks. This includes the process of preparing your teeth for veneers by removing enamel, fitting you with temporary veneers to determine if any changes are necessary, and creating your permanent veneers. After we confirm that your temporary veneers are the right fit and look for you, we fit you with your permanent veneers!
Yes, at our practice we craft veneers to your individual features. No two patients' veneers are the same at Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry! We use 3D modeling to make sure your veneers complement your face. With our Digital Smile Design technology, we provide you with a 3D facial design and smile test drive so you can preview your results before we start the veneer process.
With proper care and maintenance, your dental veneers can last between 10 to 15 years or even longer. Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene habits contribute to their longevity, ensuring you can enjoy your beautiful smile for years to come.
Absolutely! You have the freedom to select the shade of your veneers to match your natural teeth or to achieve a brighter, more vibrant smile. Our experienced team will work closely with you to choose a color that complements your unique features and meets your personal aesthetic goals.
The process of getting dental veneers is generally not painful. We use local anesthesia to numb the area during the procedure, ensuring your comfort throughout the process. You may experience some sensitivity afterwards, but this typically subsides within a few days, leaving you with a comfortable and stunning new smile.
Caring for your veneers is simple and similar to maintaining your natural teeth. Brush twice a day, floss daily, and visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings. Avoid biting on hard objects or using your teeth as tools to prevent damaging your veneers. With these easy steps, you can keep your veneers looking beautiful and feeling great.
